Tips For Using Google AdSense
After Google launched its adwords management program sometime in 2003, it brought online marketing to a higher level. Since then, the rest has become history. Suddenly, everyone was happy at how the adwords management program turned out. Google was making money. The advertisers were also making money. Consequently, other websites started earning as well with the emergence of Google AdSense.
Signing up for Google AdSense is completely free. However, not all websites are permitted to join. If your site becomes eligible, every step of the registration process is very simple. All you have to do is place the codes on your pages. From there, income is generated.
Here are a few tips to keep the revenue coming:
Don’t hesitate to ask questions
If there is anything that bothers you about AdSense, go ahead and ask Google directly. They will gladly answer your questions and they do it quickly, usually within one business day. You can email the company at the following addresses: adsense-tech@google.com and adsense-support@google.com.
Don’t place ads on blank pages
If Google was wise enough to come up with Google AdSense, then it’s just safe to say that the company has developed a secure method to maintain the program. The adwords management program designed the AdSense web crawler to assist with it. When you display the codes on a blank page, the AdSense crawler ends up having to guess about the content of your site or web page. If the guess is incorrect, then adwords management will display the incorrect ads as well.
Ensure there are no non-English characters in pages that are supposed to be English
Unfortunately, this problem is more of a bug in Google AdSense. While this is so, you must refrain from using non-English characters for the time being. Therefore, if you have a French name that needs to be accented, be careful with using it. Adwords management may display non-related French ads on your site.
Perform a keyword density check
Google provides vague detail in terms of how you can determine the ads that will be displayed on a website. However, adwords management program does mention that it concerns the text content. Consequently, you must check the keyword density used on your website.
Be extra careful when placing blogs and forums on your website
Since there are various topics in blogs and forums, the tendency is for unnecessary ads to appear on your pages. Again, this has to do with the AdSense crawler. When your pages include blogs and forums, you need to watch out for more than just the text for keyword density. You may have to deal with the pictures or images as well, since they could have “alt” attributes. The “alt” attributes may cause the density to be higher than permitted because these attributes will mention text such as “RSS feed for camerasite.com.” Consequently, if blogs about cameras and several camera-related terms appear on the page, it will definitely increase the density of the word “camera.” Unfortunately, this may not even be one of the keywords for your particular site. This will mislead the AdSense crawler, which leads to mismatched ads beings displayed.
