When you have a website you know that linking with other pages is paramount to your success. Recently news has come to light that not every link is going to be good for your web site. In fact a quality link is more important to your web site than any other issue regarding search engines. Jeffrey Smith of a search engine optimisation company commented in a recent blog that content is the way to get more individuals to your site. In other words if you don’t have a good quality content through a link that is supplied the consumers are not going to come back. The consumer wants to see information helpful to whatever they are researching.

When asked his opinion about Facebook being worth the estimated fifteen billion dollars that has been reported, Tobaccowala countered with the fact that no one knows how much the social website is really worth. Unlike Google, Facebook has never been evaluated on any stock market exchange scale.

He feels that the major televisions networks and the role they play in driving new media platforms forward a good thing. He feels that most people do not realize just how sophisticated the networks have become. They have smart people on their staff and working in the background, and some staff is dedicated to evaluating and trying to leverage a variety of things that helps promote Denuo’s clients and their products.

Tobaccowala feels that video advertising on the Internet, in pre-roll commercial type format, is not a very good way to go. Most consumers have no interest in sitting there and watching the mini-commercial such as can be found on MSN before a video news report.

As a board member of Revenue Science, a behavioural targeting firm, Tobaccowala feels that this will become a big piece of the marketing pie. They are already targeting peoples searching behaviours by paying attention to what people are reading and are interested in.

PMG recently acquired the company Digitas as well as few others over the past year, adding these entities various assets and abilities to PMG’s roster of talent. Tobaccowala believes that all the companies in the group he is involved with were behind in the technologies the many companies they purchased offered. He feels that they can successfully open up these technologies to clients without taxing the staff they had where maybe only one or two knew what to do as compared to an entire organization.

Tobaccowala claims that the real issue here is not who is hitting that twenty percent, but what is going on in the industries his clients are selling in. He says that as a whole, Denuo and the client need to look at what consumers are doing in the client’s home country and then what are the doing around the world in order to develop ways to work their own presence up to that mark.

While metrics suggest that the Internet has taken twenty percent of media time with only six to seven percent in spending, it raises the question about that significant gap and if we will ever see it diminish. Tobaccowala points out that this gap, a very important business measurement, shows that people utilize their time better than the marketers trying to catch their attention.

Denuo has been known to invest in start-up companies, but according to Tobaccowala, the ones they invest in are not cash related. He and the company advise the start-ups and they get equity in return, and he states that they are not an M&A investment firm.

As Denuo celebrates eighteen months of operation, Tobaccowala is finding that the number one lesson they have learned is that clients want innovative techniques that will help market and promote their companies. Proof of that was in the profits he and his company turned over the last year, moving into double digits when not even expecting that much success until sometime next year.

Of course mobile phones, their uses and technology is another subject Tobaccowala is well conversant about. While he doesn’t feel that 2008 will be a breakout year for mobile phones as a marketing platform, he does think that it will happen with United States phone service if it is given more time. He truly believes that no one really wants advertising on their phone.
