Denuo has been known to invest in start-up companies, but according to Tobaccowala, the ones they invest in are not cash related. He and the company advise the start-ups and they get equity in return, and he states that they are not an M&A investment firm. (more…)

Of course mobile phones, their uses and technology is another subject Tobaccowala is well conversant about. While he doesn’t feel that 2008 will be a breakout year for mobile phones as a marketing platform, he does think that it will happen with United States phone service if it is given more time. When asked about his opinion regarding new media platforms for 2008, Tobaccowala was extremely enthusiastic about Internet mapping and the way Google maps have developed. A user of the service himself, he uses the Internet function on his Apple iPhone to get the directions he need or the telephone number he wants. To him, 411 is an obsolete telephone number. (more…)

Pay Per Click and Search Engine Optimisation

Google just sponsored a study completed by Enquiro Research. This research was done on Honda where a test brand was used to determine the brand recall of the pay per click advertising. Apparently the study showed a 16% uplift in brand recall when the keyword “fuel efficient cars” was used. (more…)
