How a Website Gets Penalized

There is no right answer for this question of how a website gets penalized. The fact is Google is the only one that will know the exact reason for the website to be penalized as they are the ones with the algorithm. Without inside knowledge you could be doing what you believe is perfectly within the rules of Google, and still lose your standing. Breaking Google Rules

You can break the rules of Google’s Page Rank very easily without meaning to. Many of the webmasters don’t understand what Google rules they should be following and how they could be breaking them. Google tries to make it pretty clear for the webmasters in how you can break the rules, but some of us are just not getting the whole web page launch process; therefore we tend to break the rules unintentionally and of course end up with a lower page rank. Gaining More than a Temporary Rank

When you obtain a temporary rank of good standing on Google you are not doing yourself any favours. You are instead hindering your real motive. You should really be trying for the “stay rank” Google offers to the best websites. The “stay rank” should be a goal of five years if not more than that. Your aim should be to have the top ranking website for as long as you possibly can and there are several suggestions in how to gain this.

Link Building on the Web

Link building has changed in the last six years from being able to spam a guestbook with links for your own website to needing a better system. For those of you who have never done link building before, there are traps that you could get into if you’re not careful.
