7 Ways to Increase Sales By Increasing Speed - Part 2

The Three Factors

In our last blog we spoke about Matt Cutts from Google and the need for a faster server. There are three aspects of our question that should be considered, in which the news didn’t address.

First of all we don’t know what happens if the page takes longer than 5 seconds to load. Some pages will take up to a minute or more to load. In fact a lot of web pages tend to take at least a minute. So in this instance it is possible according to the Matt Cutts statement that Google might give this a lower ranking.

The statement “might give” is very important as we are still unsure. The second factor to be concerned with is the crawling ability. A lower ranking usually means that Google is not crawling your site properly because of how it is set up or that Google isn’t giving it a priority. If your site isn’t crawled with any frequency your pages will not be indexed and then you might not get the traffic you need.

Something else you should consider is the Google Webmaster Console. This is going to show when a URL times out.
