An audit was recently conducted on all member sites for Advantage. The results showed that two thirds of the sites scored favourably for usability, design, and SEO. While it is a positive sign that most of the websites were considered to be in a good light, there are still some issues. The study was carried out by Click with Technology. They saw 63 percent of 110 websites perform well during the study.
The firm also looked at use of content, e- commerce, and web user interaction to determine if the website was decent. A common concern was visibility and search engine optimisation for each website. So while the content was decent it didn’t perform where it should have.
49 percent of the websites were actually indexed on Google, MSN, or Yahoo. That is less than half of what it should be. Only a third had the right amount of inbound links and 12 percent of the websites were well optimised for SEO and link building. Overall the web survey was not a positive reflection of what the company should want. In fact it is not positive regarding what any company should want for their websites. 77 percent of the websites were found to have consistent design throughout, but only 29 percent actively catered to special promotions and offers. These low numbers mean something needs to change in order to get on top of the other websites in their industry to increase business overall. The websites even have a low number of clicks.
