Denuo’s Tobaccowala – Part 4
Of course mobile phones, their uses and technology is another subject Tobaccowala is well conversant about. While he doesn’t feel that 2008 will be a breakout year for mobile phones as a marketing platform, he does think that it will happen with United States phone service if it is given more time. He truly believes that no one really wants advertising on their phone.
With the amount of spamware programs people put on their computers to avoid it, he’s absolutely right. What people would be interested in, however, is marketing services since seventy percent of the activities people engage in on their phones are SMS-related. He sees intelligent phones being used more and more by a larger percentage of the population and mapping services becoming a part of people’s daily tools when they do any form of travelling.
While it is something people will need to get accustomed too, these are two very bid considerations when discussing the future of mobile phones in the coming years. Tobaccowala also sees Google as a ‘friend’ to technology minded people. In the business world, applications such as Windows and the advertising system he feels Google is creating should always be considered a friend, and that’s probably no matter how much you may occasionally hate the program.
