Savvy internet users have taken the opportunity to snap up iPad related domain names way ahead of time and they are now reselling them for millions. It seems a fairly simple idea, one that many of us are probably thinking we could have and perhaps should have thought of, but domain name speculation is not an easy business.
Internet auction sites such as ebay currently have hundreds of listings for domain names that are in some way connected to Apple’s iPad. Some of these web addresses are being sold for a modest $100 whereas others are looking to fetch a lot more.
Nick Tyler, a 31 year old record producer purchased ‘ipaddownloads.com’ and is expecting to make a cool $1 million from it. Tyler purchased the domain last year amidst all the growing speculation of Apple releasing a tablet computer, he bought two other domains (ipaddownload.com and ipaddownloads.net) all for $6 each. Although he did get quite lucky that they did decide to call it the iPad Tyler now stands to make a massive profit on his shrewd investment.
Domain name speculation is becoming increasingly popular with internet entrepreneurs as it is an incredibly easy way of making money for those that are in the know.
Other ridiculously priced iPad domain names include; A1ipad.com which can be ‘bought now’ for $4million and appleipad.com which is going for a massive $20 million, who ever bought that I salute you.
