Estimating How Much Traffic Your Competitors Get Online - Part 4
Comscore
Comscore.com is an estimation tool for figuring out the traffic you have one your website compared to that of a competitor. They have a media matrix program in which they are able to estimate the rankings for all websites. Comscore is also called qsearch 2.0. This program is set up for a more global business trying to get a thread on traffic rather than the smaller business. It will look at competitors in China, South Korea, and other cities around the world to give you an accurate mark for the traffic.
When you are using these tools to estimate traffic there are a few things you should consider. First the free tools will view your site and allow you to compare your log files. This will give you a comparison to measure for accuracy. This means that it will also give you the best traffic results for the competition. For example if the results show you that you had 500 visitors to your site, but you actually had 1000 according to your logs, you will know to double whatever number it gives you for your competition. You will never have the perfect number for traffic of your competitors. These tools provide an estimate with as much accuracy as possible.
