There are many tools online that are available to those who are trying to gain the truth behind their competitor’s traffic. Alexa.com is just one of the many online resources you might like to use. This program or site allows you to look at traffic numbers over a three month period.
The numbers used on the site have been gathered through a toolbar that is installed on browsers. This toolbar has to be manually downloaded on a browser to work, so even then you are not getting the whole answer of traffic for competitors. The information is gauged by the online ranking as well as the reach and monthly page views. Alexa is part of Yahoo, so there are quite a bit of results offered.
