Google Adwords Plus Box

10/12/07 10:27 AM

Google has just launched a new item on their webpage called the Adword Local Plus Box. The box is designed to help those who conduct searches with the Google search engine. When you do a search the sponsored listings in the local area may have a plus sign next to the information. This plus sign can be clicked on and a map will expand to show the location of the information you just searched for.

The launch is now live. Several months ago they launched this program on a trial basis, and saw great results. How the concept of the Adwords Local Plus Box works is that advertisers will not be charged for individuals who click on the plus sign. You see with the pay per click advertising that charges a business every time someone clicks on an ad, whether the click was real or not, has cost businesses a great deal in money.

With the plus box the advertiser is saved from clicks that should not be counted. The only way a business will be charged for the advertisement is if the searcher actually clicks on the link to take them to the destination rather than just the local business information a person may want.
