Google and Search Engine Optimisation

July 9, 2008 by Admin

Notice that Google, Yahoo, MSN, and ASK.com are search sites and not systems. These systems should be carefully examined if you want the most of your search engine optimisation. SEO experts are wise to scrutinize the directories and search engines to develop a better understanding of how the environment is setup and how it works before starting their search engine optimisation process.

Before you go into SEO, you should learn the differences between index, engines, sites, and search systems. Many of the larger index companies’ online use computerized software programs, which we all know are Robots (BOTS), or spiders. These specialized tools will grab the web pages. The spiders read the information available on the web pages and then store them for later. Rather than snatch all the information or pages, a noteworthy quantity of data is collected by the spiders and then a complex algorithm is used to estimate the data based on the technical and often intricate formulae used by the system to index the information. Three of the major search engines who used these spiders include Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

What are directories?

Directories are cataloged data collections from web pages. The directories provide you information concerning the web sites. Yahoo directories are one of the most commonly used search directories to help users find out about a particular web site. Click on Yahoo above to check out the directory. Open directories are used also, which the projects are offered to you by Google. Click on Google in the paragraph where it is highlighted blue to check out the top “Open Directory Project.” This is Google’s main directory, or at least one of them. Click here LINK to see the actual directory. Become acquainted with them to get the most of your search engine optimisation.

When you rely on software programs to gather information and index it, you can bet much of the information is overlooked, but what about human indexing? Yahoo, Open Directory and other major directory companies use humans to assess web sites. Open Directory and Yahoo are two of the largest companies that use humans to index their web sites that come in from consumers. The information they gather is based on the information that is provided by the web site owner. The directory companies will review the title page, and description pages which the owner of the web sites provides to the company.

The workers within the company are obligated to check each web site and put in the proper category. The web sites must meet certain qualifications. Search engine optimisation now brings us to see that SEO marketing should bring us to focus on the title and description pages to ensure that the “keywords” are relevant. If they are not relevant to the search engines, thus humans can easily put them in the wrong category. This is why search engine optimisation done the proper way is important. The web owners must verify the sites once they are submitted to the directories. Smaller companies rarely require that you verify your information.
