Google Co Op

February 9, 2008 by Admin

Google has a Refine Results For section that works with certain searches link SARS. When I have clicked on this link I find a test and diagnosis result. My question is how are the results derived and how can I make sure I am doing well in the searches?

Answer:

First you need to realize how Google’s Co-Op works in order to understand the refined searches. The Google Co-Op is a way for users to customize the search engine for other users. SARS, which you mentioned above, is a topic category label in which topics are found through specific searches in that area of Google. In this area users are able to link websites that they believe would be useful to that topic label to help the users search for the information they need.

Now that you understand a little bit about how the refined search works, let’s look at how it can help you. First you will need to sign up with the Google Co-Op and help contribute to the topics. Once you have done that you can try social bookmarking on your site that allows you to link with other sites such as Digg, Del.icio.us, and others. The idea is that you ask users to place tags to your website.

  • Digg
  • Google Bookmarks
  • Technorati
  • Facebook
  • del.icio.us
  • MySpace
  • StumbleUpon
  • Sphinn
  • Reddit
  • Mixx
  • Fark
  • NewsVine
  • Live
  • Print
  • email
