The continuing battle to be the best in the business has again been taken by Google. The company has again increased its lead over its rivals Yahoo and Microsoft. Market research companies have followed not just the monthly usage, but have data for year to date percentages. While Microsoft has still made strides over its competitors, their share has fallen since last year. Yahoo has seen a decline across the board. This sampling was based on approximately ten million internet users within a four week period.
The statistics come from Live.com and MSN Search for Microsoft. What factors are contributing to Google’s apparent success? It could be that Google has more search engine marketing than Yahoo or Microsoft. The adwords and adsense seemingly provide better marketing. You hear it in everyday conversations when people are discussing the internet. If someone is looking for a particular subject and they ask a friend or co-worker, the answer is usually “Google it”. This shows that the name recognition is much more common than Yahoo or Microsoft.
Google will undoubtedly continue to be the best in search engine marketing based on their premises. They are offering something for small and large businesses. While Yahoo and MSN do the same, they don’t have the marketing strategy for their offerings that Google has.
