Google spares your blushes with Mail Goggles
Google have introduced a brand new Gmail feature called Mail Goggles. The feature exists to combat the scourge of the modern drinker – the drunken email.
Mail Goggles can be customised to suit your lifestyle, though in its default state it requires an email sender to solve a series of maths problems immediately after pressing the send button on their email. If you get the questions wrong you get the message, ‘Water and bed for you,’ from Google and your email will not be sent.
The feature exists specifically to prevent users from doing things like contacting their ex or giving their boss a piece of their mind. Things which may seem an excellent idea late at night after a few but seldom remain so in the cold hard light of day.
Unfortunately, the system isn’t available on mobile phones so you’ll have to use good old fashioned self control if the urge to send a misguided message strikes when you’re out. But then again, there’s always a way to get that bad idea out into the world – drunk people tend to be incredibly resourceful when it comes to self sabotage.
