Hotels and PPC
Hotels are not getting very many consumers this year due to debt issues from the consumer end, but the marketing department believes that will change with an implementation of better websites. Many in the hotel industry do have websites for the consumer to find, but unless they do a search engine search as well as looking on certain travel sites the actual website is rarely seen.
Most are going to places like Travelocity or Expedia to compare the prices. To keep up with the current trends in the industry, the hotels are going to have to change their marketing scheme. This scheme is going to use pay per click advertising in order to get more consumers. The hotels will supply an ad that will take the consumer directly to their website, cutting out the middle man in the booking process.
The marketers believe the expense will be well worth the advertising as they hope to gain more consumers to make reservations on the website. For hotels that will incorporate the pay per click advertising, they could be seeing an increase overall in the reservations. Many site promoters in the past overlooked pay per click advertising as a waste of resources, but a good search will turn up the PPC a lot easier.
