How effective is the Pay per Click marketing in today’s world?

September 9, 2008 by Admin

Recently I heard people talking about Pay per Click Marketing options and how effective it is. It did not take long to understand what they were talking about and I would like to share the same with all the readers. This option is used in various search engines and other websites that have good contents and which can be related with the content of the advertiser.

Pay per Click marketing is one of the various internet marketing tools used widely today and is said to get good results too. To begin with this tool, you do not need a big budget or an elaborate infrastructure. The advertiser needs to design a catchy ad with the right keywords or phrases related to this market; he also has to decide his budget and the exact position where his ad will be displayed. These ads will be displayed when some user types similar keywords and is looking for something similar to what the advertiser is advertising for. Every time a user clicks on the ad, the advertiser will have to pay the decided amount to the website. These ads are not similar to the results that are generated by the search engine and therefore there positioning is also different from the regular search results.

Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, Microsoft AdCenter are some of the bigger websites that provide such pay per click marketing options. The Pay per Click marketing tool can be broadly divided it two categories- keyword match and the content match. The keyword match also called the sponsored match is normally displayed on search engines when the user types something which is relevant to the market. One example that I came across for such keyword match tool is the Google. The content match is the second category and this is displayed on search engines as well as other newsletters and e mails that are related to the market of the advertiser. The example that can be taken into consideration here is that of Yahoo.

As far as the payments of this tool are concerned, the advertiser is required to pay only when a user clicks on his advertisement. One thing that needs to properly taken care of is preventing the click frauds. Some notorious webmasters and even some competitors are likely to make some abusive clicks and the bigger websites like Google and Yahoo have their systems implemented to avoid such mishaps.

Some of the advantages of using the Pay per Click marketing option is that the advertiser can work according to his budget and does not have to overspend, his ads can be created in different languages which will definitely attract more users and he can also change the formats of his ads whenever he feels the need to add or modify his market status and the options that he offers through the ad

Overall, what I concluded was that the Pay per Click marketing is a very efficient and safe marketing option and the advertiser can definitely target big audiences through the right keywords and phrases through it.
