The time is near; soon enough there will be hoards of people across the pond uploading videos to YouTube and blogging like mad about how they love (or maybe hate) the iPad. This weekend, April 3rd to be precise, will see the release of the hotly anticipated tablet computer in the US. In preparation for this Apple have released a new update for iTunes that now has full iPad support, exciting!
The new update, iTunes 9.1 is available to download now from the Apple downloads store or direct from iTunes. Whilst it is not a major overhaul the update will have iPad syncing functionality and a package that will support the all new iBooks store.
Apple have decided to release 9.1 at a good time, a week or so before the launch, this will allow them to identify and fix any bugs that may arise before the release, ensuring that one of the biggest launches from the computer giants in recent years goes as smooth as possible.
For all those lucky enough to get their hands on one they will notice that when they plug it into their computer all of their movies, music and e-books will be automatically synced with their iPad.
As with most updates the interface has not changed largely and other then full iPad support there has only been one other significant change. This other amendment is to the ‘Genius’ function on the music player. Users will now be able to rearrange, remove and rename any playlist mix that the tool generates for them.
Bad news for users of jail-broken iPhone’s or iPod touches, anyone that has used the Blackra1n method of hacking will apparently not be able to sync their phones with the new update.
