Microsoft to Catch Up
Microsoft has been doing everything they can in order to catch up with Google. Google has been the top designer in pay per click advertising since the early part of 2001. Google has reigned as the most sought after pay per click advertising company, even though others have spread out. Microsoft is one company that launched their own version of pay per click advertising in the hopes of finally unseating Google as the top.
They want to share in the profits, but it has been difficult as Google still has the best pay per click advertising programme on the market. Since May Microsoft released a new programme called cash back services for their pay per click option. It works in that the company could earn cash back from the pay per click advertising if the clicks were found to be false. In other words, Microsoft is trying to only count the clicks on the advertising that lead to a sale.
This is similar to the cost per click advertising that is out there. The business only pays when a sale results from a click. Unfortunately the cash back option for the services is not working as well as Microsoft would like.
