Obtaining Links

03/03/08 3:05 PM

There are several options regarding obtaining links, but you must be smart in the overall scheme. Links in Google can be considered spam if you have not purchased the links properly or if you don’t follow a few suggestions. When you are trying to build up links, you should follow the below rules.

• You need to have a changing anchor text
• When you purchase links you need to make sure the website offers editorial obligations. In other words the site must check the links for legitimacy before offering just anything.
• Non keyword links are some of the best as Google looks at these as innovative and offers a higher ranking.
• You should not use an automated system for links. This can be considered spamming.
• Renting links is seen as bogus in the SEO and will offer a lower ranking.
• Image and ALT Text links are other options from standard links.
