Google Talks about the Duplicate Content Penalty

Google has confirmed that there never was a duplicate content penalty as many have been told. In fact in a recent statement they worked to end the myth. Search Engine Giants protect Freedom of Speech

In a period where Microsoft is spending a lot of its time aggressively trying to buy, undermine or sabotage Yahoo and Google, it seems strange that there is anybody at either company willing to take a call from the computer giant. Somebody must have though, because the top three search engine operators have just announced a joint set of principles for doing business with nations where free speech is restricted, like China or North Korea.

Yahoo’s turn to get Sued

Search engine provider, Yahoo is being sued by one of the world’s leading airlines over copyright infringement. The unusual case boils down to this, American Airlines claims that, by allowing its competitors to bid on several of their trademarks, including AAdvantage and American Eagle, as keywords Yahoo has infringed their rights.

Windows 7: A Stick to beat Google with?

Windows 7 is due for its first alpha release to the public today. The release is scheduled to take place at the Microsoft PDC2008 conference where, amongst a huge amount of hype and fanfare we’ll get the best idea yet of the new operating system and what it is going to mean for an end user. Okay so I know we said duplicate content is a problem, but there are ways around the duplicate content. You even have some tools to help you. When you create content you can spin it. You can offer different keywords, tags, and other versions of the original article. For example, if you have a topic on cat health you could rewrite it five times and submit it to different locations. The cat health topic will vary in words you used and the formation of the actual content. You have tools to help you gain the most originality from spinning content, which means you need to use them.
