Search Engine Algorithms

Search engine algorithms are used by Google to create a better database for visitors to web sites. These search engine algorithms are useful for web content aimed towards the consumers. Stuart Tofts has looked at how Google is using the algorithms to create a better database.

Google ranks their websites that they find through the algorithm helping the consumer to find a page that will have what they are looking for with ease. This means that the search engines are using something to indicate to the searcher what the potentially better websites are. Basically what the algorithms do is search for certain indicators such as the number of inbound links, the content, and the keywords used.

Based on the information that is placed into the algorithm a page rank is going to be offered. The higher the page rank the better chance a website has of being on the top page and of course getting more views by the consumers. By allowing the websites to be searched for useful information or popular items for sale it is targeting the mass market a little better than having a bunch of websites with non useful information.
