Website Marketing with Domain Names - Part 2

Redirecting Customers on Websites

We spoke a little in our last post about domain names and redirecting your customers. We will still use our example of the online pet store. If you use a dot com web address you could have a redirect on the site to send the customer to the UK based store when the name of your store is typed into Google.

In fact you could have all of your pages showing up on Google’s first results page just by the domain name and keywords. This allows you to look more professional to the customer as well as offering an easier way to find you when you have an online site.

Even land based businesses have more than one website so that they can reach their customer base all over the world. The domain name needs to be keyword based. For example if you have pet supplies in your domain name any one doing a search for pet supplies can find you easier than leaving out what your business does. You can buy several domain names that will direct the customer to you. In an example of toilet seats you might have .co.uk TLD and .com TLD for the UK market. By offering a name that is recognized as a keyword you can get more customers.
