Domain Name Logistics

When you own a business and are trying to sell goods following out other blogs can be important on how to structure the domain names. There have been several tests completed regarding the information on how to structure the names.

The most important things that seem to remain true are the use of the .com and your location for the specific country TLD. It is also imperative that you use keywords and short domain names to get your customer’s attention and keep it.

If you have a personal site like a blog you can always go for the generic. You don’t have to have your name or specific keywords, because you are not aiming at selling anything. Something like flamingrocks.com would work just as well as something else. For a business though, you need to make sense. If you have a baby site then something that tells the person what the site is about is imperative in the domain name. You wouldn’t say flamingrocks.com for a baby clothing site instead something like forallbabies.com would work better. Keeping in mind that it should relate to your actual store name, so if your store is For All Babies that would work. If it is Delia’s Baby Emporium then those three words should make up the domain name.
