Ever since Apple announced that Steve Jobs would not be giving the Macworld keynote this year, and that they would be pulling out of the event altogether after this year, the questions have been coming thick and fast; what are Apple going to do to announce their products in the future? Why have they opted out of something that at least appeared to working well? But most of all there has been discussion of what they plan to do this year, how will they bow out? What, if anything, do they have for marketing chief, Phil Schiller (Jobs’ replacement) to announce?
I’d love to tell you that I have all the answers. Unfortunately I don’t, but I can have a stab at what will be announced, courtesy of the frenzied conjecture taking place on the blogs at the minute.
The thing that most Apple fans are excited about is the prospect of a 32 gig iPhone, an addition to the Apple stable that has been long rumoured and impatiently awaited. The thing with iPhones is that they can do so much and have so many fun downloads that they tend to fill up quickly. A 32 gb version would be expected to please a lot of people, even if it’s not exactly a headline grabber outside the world of Apple fans.
