Your Online Guideline to Avoiding Penalties from Google - Part 9
Rookie Webmaster Mistakes
There are mistakes a new webmaster will make in the online world. These mistakes will cause the wrath of Google to deduct your ranking or even ban you from the index. Two of the biggest mistakes are assertive link building and the use of keywords.
Here is the thing if you are trying to build up links in one week to get that page rank you will be deducted for points with Google. Google wants you to be patient. They believe if you take your time and build up your website over time you are actually paying more attention and you are gaining the appropriate links rather than going into the gray area of SEO. You also don’t want to have over keyword use. In other words Google looks at the content on your web page. If the content is found lacking it is usually a result of the keyword use. Rather than having something intelligent and meaningful to say on the page you have instead spammed the consumer with keywords just so they find your site.
You need your website and SEO to look natural to Google over the long term. This allows you to stay under the radar for some gray area practices like the automated queries. Google also knows that long term link building actually offers deeper links rather than short term and they reward a website for that.
