Getting the Right Search Engine Marketing Strategies

Keywords are the crux of any good search engine marketing strategy that one would use. Keywords appear in the title, or should, headers, keywords Meta tags, description Meta tags and all throughout the body of the copy you use for the webpage.

Sounds so simple, wish it were. That s that use search engine marketing follow their own paths, no two seem to put the same weight on keywords and how they treat them and similar words.

Some do not recognize capital letters. Some do not count a word if it then appears with an s or ed attached. Example: widget or widgets. A person searching for widget will not get sites for widgets. Or Widget, Before you pull your hair out; let's see what can be done.

When you use search engine marketing strategies, such as keyword analysis, be very specific in your keywords. Use ads that highlight widget and another for widgets. Use the one that seems more beneficial to you. Keep them relevant to your webpage. Nobody wants to look for libraries and come to a site for nudist colonies. This is in essence, false advertising, and some search engines will not rank you if it can determine this is going on.

Use the same keywords in your title, the first sentence of your copy. This is where your visitor will know what your site is about and if he does not see or get the idea that he will find what he is looking for based on this scant information he will be gone in a flash. Same with search engines, Some only look at titles, headers and the like to index you for ranking. Google puts emphasis on description meta tags.

Be consistent. Use the keywords throughout the body of your copy in such a way as not to distract from the readability of the copy. Since some engines do check the copy, keywords sprinkled throughout the copy are good and will result in a better ranking. Only do so if you can keep the quality of your copy good. Many people ruin the copy in going for a higher ranking. Works but loses the conversion good copy would give you.

One thing is certain, how your page is ranked is uncertain. Today you may rank in the top ten. Next week we may not be able to find you. Why is this? There isn’t really a good reply to this question. It may be relevance; it may be the ranking had to do with a keyword that is no longer being searched for. It is imperative to keep track of your results on a very regular basis. This will enable you to make changes necessary to keep you high in the rankings.

The right search engine marketing strategy will also produce better qualified visitors to your website that will buy. Using this search engine marketing strategy, it targets your visitors to people who are looking for what you have specifically. It results in more sales as people already are looking for what you have. It is now your job to keep them on your page till they buy or you get their contact information to follow up with them later.
