AOL Introduces its Brand New Homepage

The introduction of AOL’s brand new homepage lets the users gain social network entrée straight from the site.

This web design development of AOL gives the users more options in posting updates to selected social networks. Other features of the new AOL homepage are profile activity monitoring, status updates, mail alerts, and friend requests from social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and Bebo.

With the launching of AOL’s new homepage, supplementary tools are displayed to give content and services. The customization of AOL’s homepage like the main navigation is done via adding links, RSS feeds access, and other personalized design themes in web design.

The main objective of AOL introducing its new homepage is to welcome content and services from third party. AOL users starting last month are now allowed to access Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo accounts within the AOL homepage. After giving permission to users to access other mail accounts, the annual page views of AOL had grown to 34 per cent. Also, 12 percent of the annual views came from visitors according to comScore.

To further emphasize the need to web design development, Bill Wilson the Executive Vice President of AOL programming put into note that: “As the Web becomes more fragmented, consumers want choice and relevance in their Web experiences. AOL.com is the first traditional big portal to offer access to popular social networking sites all in one place.”
