For the second part of my ’5 tips for reducing your bounce rate‘, we will be looking at using headlines to capture your audience, quickly and effectively.
3. Highlight benefits of your product rather than the features:
Rather than listing in great detail the specifications of the product or service that your are offering, try instead to portray which problem your product or service can solve!
For example, rather than having: puncture resistant tyres
Try: never change a tyre in the rain again!
4. Don’t sound like an ad.
Every day you are presented with thousands of advertising messages, your brain has developed a method of phasing them out. One of the best methods fo bypassing that filter is to not sound like an advert. Instead of sounding like a door to door salesman, try instead to sound like a friend giving advice.
For example, instead of: Cheapest online holiday deals
Try: 5 tips on getting a great holiday for the best price
5. Make headlines look easy to read.
Rather than read a whole article, most people will just scan through it, mainly over headings to get an overview of the article content.
So, do your best to make your headline simple, direct and as clear as possible.
For example, instead of: Analyse traffic, visitor trending, conversion times and pay per click costs to better conversions
Try: Top Tips to increase conversions
