The mobile application will allow users to integrate all their contacts from their yahoo address book and to select social networks into their Smartphone. Consumers will be able to send SMS messages, post their status, and view the latest activity from social networks. The first version was launched on Friday 26th September last week and the UK version will be launched sometime before Christmas. The versions will support the major social networking sites – Bebo, Face book, MySpace and YouTube.
This move shows the that Yahoo are seriously looking to develop their Mobile Services – The research estimates show that the number of users of mobile social-networking sites will rise from 54million in 2008 to nearly 703million in 2013.
